Spring 2023 Update

Hi Green Streets Friends,

Thank you for your interest in Green Streets! We are thrilled that so many people continue to be passionate about healthy, sustainable, and equitable transportation. This month, we have some interesting news to share!

Exciting Project in Everett!

We are happy to announce that we have been hired by the City of Everett to create a fascinating What Moves Everett Schools project. It is a 3-part project that includes a survey of Everett’s 7,000+ K-12 students, in-depth interviews with 20 active commuters in Everett, and a webpage with snippets of these interviews. Our goal is to understand

  • how Everett's 7,000+ students, faculty, and staff travel to school,

  • how they would like to travel,

  • what prevents them from using the modes they’d prefer and,

  • how active commuters suggest others could try an active commute for themselves.

This project seeks to be a step forward in making Everett’s roads safer and more equitable for all road users. We are very excited to dig into our survey and interview data!

On March 24th, our team traveled to Everett (via train, bus, and bike!) to spread the word about our work and explore the community. It was great for us to meet our partners in-person and to engage directly with residents!

What Moves Everett Schools is part of our larger What Moves Us campaign. These amazing projects are a delight to work on, and we are always hungry for more! This approach enables communities and organizations to

  • start conversations about transportation,

  • inspire people to make switches to their own commutes,

  • foster community among all types of transportation users, and

  • build empathy for car-light commuters.

If your community or organization would benefit from a project with Green Streets, feel free to reach out to us by email or schedule an informational meeting.
